From what I’ve heard and seen they are solid trucks, especially when you can get em cheaper than a comparable 4Runner with similar specs. Cool rig.

I had a first gen and it was awesome. Had 4.60 gears from the factory. Very underappreciated 4x4.

Crazy! my 80s Pickups came with factory 4.10s. The good thing about the mountains is that there are many old Japanese 4x4s to satisfy me.

The 4 cylinder first gens had 4.90 gears!

I’m sure you get your pick up there. Once you get out of the Salt belt the good stuff becomes more common.

my stepdad had one. it would outpace a lot of sporty cars to 60 MPH, and be able to lug around 1000 lbs of stone while towing 4000lbs in a trailer no problem!

I’ve got a 2015 with a 6 speed, it’s surprisingly quick if you hop on it. But I don’t because i’d put the dogs through the rear glass.
